Or, you may opt for a hike through a lush pine scented forest in Acadia National Park to reach a summit offering rewarding views of Somes Sound - the only natural fjord on the east coast. Or, perhaps biking Acadia's famous Carriage Roads (over 57 miles) is the activity of the day. With our proximity to the busy town of Bar Harbor, guests can enjoy a day of shopping and "people watching) then come back to end their day on the less commercial and less trampled "Quietside" of Mount Desert Island.

The architecture of this 1904 turn-of-the-century Queen Anne Victorian displays steeply pitched roofs, cedar shingle and Pebbledash exterior with sea stones hand embedded in stucco.  Inside is a seamless blend of contemporary and traditional furnishings, fine art and dramatic local photography. Fabrics of coordinating colors and patterns give this inn a designer touch.
